Website Footer Setup
Footer Structure
Your website footer contains a powerful navigation system with multiple levels:
Nav Items: These are your main navigation elements that appear in the footer menu.
Nav Children: These create dropdown sections under your main Nav Items.
By default this is setup for you when you setup your website. This guide is to show you how to adjust them!
Setting Up Navigation
For Simple Links:
- Create Nav Items that link directly to pages
- Set the Type as "Internal link" to connect to your website pages or "Custom URL" for external websites
- Provide a clear Label to display in the footer navigation
- Optionally set links to open in a new tab
For Dropdown Sections:
- Create a parent Nav Item (this will display in the footer)
- Since parent items with children aren't directly clickable, you can link them to your homepage
- Add Nav Children under this parent item (these will appear in the dropdown section)
- Each Nav Child needs its own link settings and label
This flexible structure allows you to create both simple navigation and complex multi-level menus in your footer to help visitors find additional information on your website.
