Website Navigation Setup
Header Structure
Your website header contains a powerful navigation system with multiple levels:
Nav Items: These are your main navigation elements that appear in the top menu bar.
Nav Children: These create dropdown menus under your main Nav Items.
Button Links: Special links that appear at the bottom of dropdown menus for highlighting important actions.
By default these are handled for you on site setup, but this guide is to show you how to edit them!
Setting Up Navigation
For Simple Links:
- Create Nav Items that link directly to pages
- Set the Type as "Internal link" to connect to your website pages or "Custom URL" for external websites
- Provide a clear Label to display in the navigation bar
- Optionally set links to open in a new tab
For Dropdown Menus:
- Create a parent Nav Item (this will display in the menu bar)
- Since parent items with children aren't directly clickable, you can link them to your homepage
- Add Nav Children under this parent item (these will appear in the dropdown)
- Each Nav Child needs its own link settings and label
- Add Button Links at the bottom of dropdowns for call-to-action buttons
A reference to what the dropdown is on your site, as well as, the button links!
This flexible structure allows you to create both simple navigation and complex multi-level menus to help visitors find what they need on your website.
